also getting around 17 to 18mpg.

BMW 740i 1998 4.4l

But on petrol I get 27.7, which gives me a 3 or 4 year payback period. Useless :(

waste of money so far.....

You won't get 27 mpg around town on petrol.

And oobviously, the more miles you do, the quicker the pay back period.

So true...... So true.......

realised I had made a mistake:

was multiplying my miles per litre calculation by 5.54 instead of 4.54!!!

so my petrol 27.7 was actually 22.7mpg

Whihc makes my 16.5 (to 17.5 in good traffic) mpg on LPG, a £90 saving per month.

Within a year I should break even, and in a further year I'll save £1500 squidlets!! (assuming LPG goes up at the same rate as Unleaded)

My dad has a 2004 740 with basically the same engine. Don't know how the guy above me gets 27MPG! he must be reading his MPG meter - mine tells me 28mpg and it LIES!!!

hehe

so yeah - all of a sudden - happy LPGer
