Hi
I have a problem with my car, whereby it gives the following fault from the code reader “Catalyst system efficiency below threshold (bank 1)”.
I have been able to obtain the following values from the sensors etc after the codes were removed:
Absolute throttle position 15.1%
Ignition timing 10º advance
Short term fuel trim bank 1 2.34% lean
Long term fuel trim bank 1 10.94% rich
Intake air temperature 35ºc
Bank 1 sensor 2 0.720 V
Before the codes were removed, the values at the point of the DTC occurring were:
Absolute throttle position 15.1%
Ignition timing 10º advance
Short term fuel trim bank 1 3.91% rich
Long term fuel trim bank 1 8.59% rich
Engine speed 1808.50 Rpm
Vehicle speed 25 Mpg
Intake air temperature 31ºc
I look forward to any feedback. I have posted this onto the site honestjohn, (http://www.honestjoh...dex.htm?t=86617) but nobody could respond.
Thanks
Greg

Re: PROBLEM LPG SYSTEM
Hi Greg,
What car is it?
That particular trouble code, as the name suggests, is usually to identify faults with the cat(s). However, the best way to test it all out if you use LPG is to clear all the error codes and then run on petrol for a while and see if the errors occur - this is to determine if the LPG system is contributing to the errors or if it's a 'genuine' error with the petrol system which will obviously manifest with the LPG system too.

Re: PROBLEM LPG SYSTEM
The system is made up of the following units:
The control unit is a BRC Sas equipment (2 ent, sequ 4) is stated on the controller. It is a sequential setup.
The vapouriser is a Genius 6AG 11200 mbar with serial 8055 on it.
I hope this of use.

Re: PROBLEM LPG SYSTEM
Greg, what year is the car ? You have a problem with the fuel trims being too far out on petrol when it's on gas.
