Prins VSI servicing
Hi
Due my 25,000 km service and wondered what this entails?
I assume it is just a filter change and general check over of the physical aspects of the system and software settings?

Hi, Would be insterested in finding out what the service entails. Apparently they chnage the filter and check the settings all for just over £120 - nice work if you can get it. Would be interested in doing this if it's not too much trouble. Also have a prins vsi system.

Hi Jabba,
Basically, the filter is changed and a general check of the system is done (this should include a check and re-calibration of the software settings if necessary).
Prices vary from £65 - 150 + VAT which I, personally, think is a bit extortionate as the part is only circa 35 pounds and major software changes are rarely needed.

So does anybody know what has happened to the 'heavies' that used to build up in vapourisers and cleaning it was part of a service, now that vapourisers don't seem to be part of a service? When I dismantled my system to fix it after a bad install I found that the inlet manifold 'straws' where the injector hose connects had a hardened glue like substance on them which a pig to get off. Didn't help that the install had put them at the bottom (facing up) and too far way from the petrol injectors.

So enlighten me, what filter are they actually changing and where is it in the system?

Most systems have some sort of filter similar to this and it looks an easy DIY. However, the problem is getting hold of a filter as these systems are really only available to approved installers.
On the Prins VSI system they are recommended to be change after 25,000 km and then 75,000 km.
